Lawrence Woodworks is owned and run by Peter Lawrence and is located in Hamilton, NY. Peter earned his associate’s degree in Carpentry and Building Trades from SUNY Delhi and began building custom houses in the Catskill Mountains. While building houses, Peter was drawn to thinking about the furniture needed to turn those houses into homes.
In 2015, Peter started Lawrence Woodworks to help make the everyday more beautiful through his custom pieces. He knows the joy of sitting in a hand-carved chair or a handmade table and wants to share that joy with every customer. That is why Lawrence Woodworks is committed to building beautiful pieces for all areas – whether it is your home, office, or other commercial spaces.

Colgate Inn - Hamilton, New York
In celebration of the Colgate Inn’s 100th anniversary, we were commissioned to replicate the Windsor-style wooden chairs that were original to the dining room.
We completed 80 handmade chairs along with 13 tables and a dining banquette.
General Manager Kendra Young said she looked to the inn’s history for inspiration in planning upgrades to the building’s beloved tavern. The tables and chair seats were all made from local cherry, while the legs and spindles were all made from local white ash.
